Carrie George is a junior photojournalism student with a writing minor at Kent State University. She is from Bel Air, Maryland, and chose Kent based on its accredited journalism program. In her time at Kent she has worked for the newspaper, The Kent Stater, and the Honors College literary arts journal, Brainchild.
She is also the editor in chief for the Kent State literary arts magazine, Luna Negra, as well as the co-founder and editor for Kent State’s Florence Institute magazine, A Voi Magazine.
She has traveled everywhere from Washington D.C. to Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania for various reporting and storytelling projects.
She also participated in a Summer Immersion Program at Sichuan University in Chengdu, China. Her experience in China inspired her to continue traveling and telling the stories of the incredible people she meets. She spent spring 2017 in Florence, Italy, participating in Kent’s first photography program on their Florence campus.
